Todd, Rummy,
Even with my WM steel stands I don't feel all that safe under the boat. But
I'm only lifting about 6" off the bunks so if the stands fail, the boat will
only drop that much. And when I'm under there, I position myself such that
a drop wouldn't squish me (I'm slim ya know) and I never stick my hands
between hull and bunk--only the paint roller goes there.
