Well, well, well......once a Rhodies always a Rhodie <grin> and I see you
still have Blewdaze <double grin>
Glad to see you back. Fred and I were wondering how goes everything,
especially last fall when we were down in NC for a really brief visit to my
daughter in Greenville. Sounds like the canvas biz is keeping you busy and
out of trouble but be carefull how you define success (hint: more money and
more work isn't necessarily it!) though the award must have been very
gratifying. Here's a quote for all the other Rhodies here:
"Mariner Canvas Company wins award Mariner Canvas Company, of New Bern,
received an award from the Virginia-Carolinas Canvas Products Association
of the Industrial Fabrics Association International.
Alex Bell and Pamela Vana received a first-place award for their entry in
the Marine Exterior Canvas category of the Professional Work Photo Contest
at it annual convention in Virginia Beach, Va.
The award was given for their work on a 34-foot sailboat and was given in
recognition of workmanship, creativity, design, functionality and style."
from the New Bern Sun Journal.
Congratulations!! I'd love to see your winning photo (s).
Fred's retired from the 40 hr/week job and into a new career booking music
for a local theater. The business expenses are a bonus as I expect they are
in the sailing industry. Hope you really do find time for sailing. A
6-month backlog doesn't sound too bad - one of the local canvas guys to
Rock Hall was up close to a year a while back.
Best wishes.
