Paul:
	1.	The reason for Stan's misstatement is that this list
originated off a sailnet list. That list was around for a number of years.
However, many of the list members felt limited by the discussion
restrictions of that list. If you follow other sailnet list, they have what
we believed to stifling restrictions of topics that could be discussed.
	2.	At the time this list was formed, those that moved over from
the old 'rhodes list' discussed and decided numerous things, including
membership who is who list. The consensus the members detailed information
was not to be published.
	3.	There was formerly a list kept that was voluntary in nature,
but was not to be given out just for the asking. This is the list currently
being kept by Mary Lou. Simply put, you are not qualified to get a copy at
this time. If you buy a Rhodes 22 and send pertinent information to Mary
Lou then you would be.
	4.	This is a voluntary list among friends derived from an
interest in the Rhodes 22 sailboat and Rhodes design sailboats in general.
This list is not controlled by Stan, however, he watches the list and
comments at his leisure.
	5.	General Boats of Edenton, North Carolina is Stan. It is a
small operation and this is Stan's busy time trying to make sailboats for
people committed in getting one from him. He has no secretary to respond to
phone calls and general inquiries. That is why he refers people to the
internet if you call asking general information. Keep in mind your call
keep him from making somebody else's boat.
	6.	How does Stan sell his boats? He goes to boat shows. Have
you been to a boat show? He went a couple of years ago to a boat show in
California because he was delivering a sailboat there. If you want to see
the Rhodes 22, the one boat show that he always goes to is the U.S. Boat
Show in Annapolis, Maryland.
	7.	Another option you might consider is go to Edenton, North
Carolina. Weekends are best because Stan will have time to talk without
taking him away from building somebody else's boat. However, even then you
cannot count on a boat to go for a sail on there. He simply does not have a
fleet available.
	8.	I do not recall your telling us your level of knowledge of
sailboats. If you do not have a lot of experience, there is a Rhodes 22
Captain whose is also a credentialed sailing instructor. He is located in
the middle of the USA, see: http://www.odysseysailing.com/favorite.htm
	9.	If you just want to sail, come to Lake Hartwell. If Rummy
is busy, there are several others of us. Remember you are asking questions
in prime sailing weather, so many are sailing rather than answering list
post.

Rummy, I talked with Stan this morning.

He mentioned he was mistaken about the sailnet list. He was actually
refering to this message board.

I have noticed that there are other owners groups (other sailboat
models) that do publish a list of members on their websites.

It's my guess that they actually create two lists. One list is probably
comprehensive and kept private. The other list is made public for those
that want to develop more activities, relationships, etc..

In any case, I imagine the protocol is that the members must first
give their consent to be listed for general viewing purposes.
