Ed,

   It is not my old boat.  LOL    I stripped all of the usuable parts off o=
f mine before I took it to the county dump.  It was a 1974 and had those ov=
al bow ports.  The side ports were larger than most standard off-the-shelf =
port lights.  I've heard that is part of the reason Stan doesn't recycle bo=
ats that old .

  There is most likely a c/b there.  Older boats had different style trunks=
.  1974 and earlier boats had external pivot pins and the c/b was removed f=
rom below because there was no trunk cap inside.  1975's had the trunk cap =
but the pivot pin was still accessed from outside on the side of the keel. =
 I believe that 1976 was the first year with the trunk cap and internally a=
ccessed pivot pin.

   I doubt that older boats came without compression posts.  The lack of a =
post on the e-bay boat would make me question the structural integrity of t=
he cabin top.  The biggest worry for an older boat is the condition of the =
cabin sole stringers and floor.  Next, I'd check that cabin top and the for=
edeck for soft spots and deliminations.  These would be the hardest things =
to fix if neeed.
