[Rhodes22-list] Sailing, and animals

So how was the sail, Jim?

I didn't mention why I'm stuck (even more so than usual): I work with
a team of 8 people. I've got three teammates in Hawaii this week
implementing a new system there, and two more in St. Thomas for a
customer service visit. That leaves three of us in the office trying
to keep up with 8 people's work. Needless to say, they owe us. Big.

On another topic, I was in the waiting room at the LSU vet school
yesterday. (LSU has one of the best veternary schools in the country,
and my first mate is in poor shape, unfortuneately). While I was
waiting, a WLF agent comes in with a large brown pelican in a
cardboard box. The poor thing had taken a BB or shotgun pellet in the
neck near a town a couple of hours from Baton Rouge.
It turns out that they have a whole group of doctors (and students
working under them) that deal with birds and exotic animals. They
also have some really cool technologies to help animals recover --
hyper oxygenated cages, pools to help exercise dogs with joint
problems, and pathology labs and specialists like a human
   hospital. It was pretty cool.
I asked one of the doctors, and it turns out that the pelican just had
a flesh wound. He (or she, who can tell?) was expected to recover and
   be re-released.
   Now, back to the grind.

     Hey Ben
It's 78 degrees here, the wind is SSE at 8 to 15, slightly overcast
     and on
my way back from lunch there were several other sailors out... Oh
     boy, I
feel a drinking/sailing afternoon coming on.
Remember: you never get time wasted to waste again!
