[Rhodes22-list] Public Radio and TV

Saroj,

Well, I wouldn't say that they outright promote these things the way you put them. What I see though is they do tend to promote the idea that it's OK to be a victim. I see this as a huge problem in our country these days. People seem to think that their problems are somehow special and therefore some special treatment should be offered for them. The truth is, we all have problems of one kind or another and those of us that buck up and work our way through them tend to be successful. Those that want to sit back and go, oh poor me never make it. NPR likes to blame society for people's problems when the real blame should lay with those people themselves and their unwillingness to work through their problem(s) no matter what it takes.

This to me is as good as promoting socialism.

Rik

Rik, of course they are pushing their own agenda... I wasn't clear about my
referential pronoun.. apologies... see my follow on email...

I just have never heard or picked up any indication that they were promoting
communism and socialism; promoting control of individuals, promoting the
control of the point of view of the masses, or disdaining individual
freedom.

Have you?

Saroj
