Ed,
I know 1-10 is open from Baton Rouge to Mobile Ala....clear sailing....try not to go through Baton Rouge around 8AM or 5PM....traffic is unbelievable....have been sending people to Lake Charles on I-10 and no one has come back and complained the roads are not open....you would save a few minutes taking I-12 from Slidell to Baton Rouge (15-30 depending on how you drive)....but you would miss going through NO if you did that....don't know anything about the roads in Texas.....
