Mr. Effros,

     The original tread was about New Orleans.  You are using argument by
Fast Talking and using the Red Herring to create the impression your point
is valid.  

     You are resorting to avoiding the claim and using rhetorical tricks.
Specifically you are using misdirection in an attempt to prove your
position.

Your arguments appear to be valid especially to your fellow travelers,
however, to offer fallacious and flawed arguments deliberately is called
sophistry.
