[Rhodes22-list] Storage

Bud,
Thanks for asking the question.
I've been looking at that space for years.
I've used it for cockpit fill-in cushion storage, but I don't like the
way the pieces rattle around, and stowing them in the V-berth (which I
use for nothing but storage) protects them better. I've used them to
store life preservers, but they aren't really ready in an instant for
emergencies. They are great for snaking wires--plenty of room.
I find it uncomfortable to lie under the cockpit seats to work inside
the combings, so anything stowed there must go in and out in a hurry, or
I just won't do it. The boom room might be an excellent utilization.
I have considered storing fresh water inside the combings, and even
pumping it to the high side to flatten the boat--I'll bet the boat would
go faster--but I haven't gotten around to doing that.
