Boat US is basing their coverage on the "Blue Book" value of the boat.
They don't recognize that yours is factory recycled and worth more. General
Boat's is unique in making the market for their product. Just about
everything else floats in a buyer/seller environment.
That said, for a Rhodes-22 it's best to go to a licensed carrier like State
Farm and get stated amount or ACV coverage.
I do urge you to obtain adequate towing coverage. If you become disabled or
stranded on the hard the fee's imposed by any of the private towing
operations will amaze you. Also once rescued they may end up claiming your
boat as salvage! It's eventualities like these which make insurance
mandatory!
