Alan:
1. You have proven that your hull is water tight, congratulations!
2. Follow the instructions given about getting the water out and the
boat dried as fast as possible. While Rummy's directions were short and to
the point, read Peter's disertation on the importance of getting the boat
dried. The first job of a captain of a ship is to keep a cool head.
3. You said you thought about selling it on ebay? How much in todays
world do you really think someone would give. I assure you it would be less
than you paid. In fact if were full of water, they would charge you, not
pay you. As Michael pointed out, you should have gotten one of those cheap
blue tarps and covered the whole thing. Now you know what needs to be done
next fall... You will be more experienced next time, be happy it was an old
boat and not a brand new one.
4. You may want to run an extension cord to the boat to put in a
good size fan, followed by a space heater. Then shop around and get
something like 'Frabeze' to get rid of the smells. You have the whole
weekend to do this project. It is called spring commissioning...
