Yes I think the Yamaha does have a tension adjustment.. I figured that would
just increase the tiller resistance unfavorably when when I link the tiller
to the motor.. Perhaps though a small bit of tensioning that adjustment may
keep the so called lock from jumping out without adversely affecting the
steering resistance
