Thanks for the suggestions to check out PowerTiller.

i had a long conversation with Bill Lajoie, owner, and
through discussion of my needs, he determined that it
will not work in my application for a pedestal mount.

However, he is a sharp guy & very personable and the
product sounds like a great idea for tiller boats..

If anyone is interested in PowerTiller do give him a
call & discuss it with him
