Slimmeister,
Now I understand the problem. You are the problem. Simply squirting some
epoxy into the holes ain't a gonna get the job done. Forget mollies. They won't
give you the strength you need nor will pop rivets.
You need to approach the project from the standpoint that you are going to
rebuild the entire area. This involves heavy sanding or grinding, drilling out
the holes to make a larger hole and then cleaning the whole thing with
lacquer thinner or something similar. Grind up some fiberglass fibers and put those
into the epoxy mix. In order to keep the stuff where you want it, I would
rig something up on the underside that would keep the materials in place (
perhaps a small piece of cardboard with a string attached) and then pour away,
being sure to keep it away from the pennant. Allow to dry thoroughly, have
massive quantities of rum and come back the next to day to sand and drill some
new holes. I would use a good bedding compound, something permanent like 5200?
Rummy
