[Rhodes22-list] Hurricane Evac

Wally,

Didn't catch the 60 minutes segment but watched the Discovery Channel story
on Katrina Survivors, all NOLA of course. What struck me was how many
citizens had the attitude of "we get threatned by hurricanes all the time,
big deal." The 'Hurricane Pam' exercise from a year earlier demonstrated
the likely results. Even after getting a call from the President and the
National Hurricane Center, Nagan stalled. After that, the die was cast.

Herb, it is sad but true, you can only do so much to help people who won't
help themselves.
