Hi Cotton.  Got back from the sunny, hot weather right into last night's 
mess.  White knuckle drive from Boston...got home about 12:30 am.  Yuck. 
Sorry to hear about your weather.  Glad you have a generator.  After that 
ice storm, we'll never be without one.

I play tennis at 2:00 on Fridays so Ellie gets to pick up the girls.  Lunch 
that day would be great but I need to get going by 1:30.  Would that work?

It's daylight and I've been drinking coffee.  8-)  Yes, there's some
side-to-side slop in the rudder within the housing.
I've tried tightening the bolts.  I think the strips would elliminate the
slop but not make it bind raising and lowering.
The same goes for the center board--there's some slop there too.  Going
downwind, you can hear it thumping back
and forth when the boat yaws.  I Also hear it when at anchor if it's wavey.
That part is not really a problem because
the noise just reminds me to pull the board up when I'm going downwind or
at anchor, but the slop in the rudder
has always bothered me.

      What have you been drinking?  Slop in the rudder?  Detailed
explaination please.  Have you considered a washer and to tighten bolts?
Originally this discussion had to do with raiseng and lowering
the centerboard and using teflon to make it slippery.  Now we are slip
slopping away.
