[Rhodes22-list] Starboard Verses UMHW(P)HE

Ed, list,

    Starboard (KingStarboard), according to the manufacturer, can be "welded" using a specific process but is not to be used for structural applications. Uhmwpe also can be "glued together" using special expensive adhesives.  Starboard is advertised as being UV "stable".  VHMWPE and is UV resistant and UWMWPE is usually only UV resistantant in black or gray.  None of these polomers will take paint.  What is the application?

    To find UHMWPE try www.mcmaster.com.   Also go to e-bay and search UHMW.  Also contact sales at machinist-materials.com and tell them exactly what you need.
