Thanks, Rummy,

My spam filter threw Philip's message directly into the junk folder and 
I never saw it.

The world is going to hell in a handbasket and some people think they 
can just change the subject with misleading political PR.  I don't think 
that stuff will work anymore, but we'll see.

For the record, Jeremiah Denton is also an anti-abortion, bible 
thumping, conservative Republican former Senator from Alabama who likes 
to use his war-hero status as a  wedge to deliver vitriolic political 
speeches, and that is the reason the Democratic controlled California 
Assembly declined to hear from him on the Fourth of July as part of a 
Republican political gambit.  He did speak to Republicans.

Also, the Republican who proposed that he speak urged like minded 
Republicans to not use this incident to vilify all Democrats, but it 
appears that some of them don't read all the way to the bottom of their 
email before forwarding it along.
