[Rhodes22-list] Stiff mainsail furler

Brad,
May seem like a fundamental question, but can the 'bearings and lower support be lifted out of the mast through the bottom without removing the entire tube assembly? Can the thrust bearing, which is screwed to the bottom of the tube then be removed and changed? If the tube is moved inside the mast, will the top 'bearing/guide move with the tube, in other words fastened/linked in some way? The cleaning/then lubricating sounds much better than just spraying into the assembly.
Thanks for any info,
Art
