Art,
The thrust bearing is a piece of UHMWPE that fit in the bottom of the
furling tube,and retained by a Phillips head screw.It rests on another piece
of plastic( L shaped) on the bottom of the slider bracket,inside the mast.
The wear is not a factor ,the screw is what will get you. If the screw backs
out, it will catch on the L bracket and only let the furling tube rotate
about 120 degrees.A Phillips head screwdriver and a flashlight will fix it
in about 20 seconds,just have to have the furling tube slider in the up
position.
