[Rhodes22-list] DOB was Tools and Supplies

Elle,

Our previous dog was an 80-pounder too and we used to get him onboard by the
boarding ladder.  (We have the wide steps)  With some coaxing, he would
naturally try to climb the ladder and I would just keep him from falling
back by putting my hand on the back of his heck and holding his head toward
the ladder and he could crawl up.  The first couple times was so comical we
almost died laughing.  After a few times, he got good at it.  He loved the
water (Labrador) and would whine incessantly until we stopped for a dip.
It isn't that hard and I think a lot easier than hoisting him onboard with
some block and tackle.

That said, I like the idea of rigging a hoist system for lifting an actual
MOB (unconscious) into the boat, or lifting heavy items from the dock.
