You just want your lake all to yourself.
I know that feeling!
I would prefer that we never go wet here because that would
bring too much development.
We are racing in Nashville this weekend (goo thing we got rooms
over 6 weeks ago with the SEC tournament!) Looks as though
we will be out in the rain. Is warmer and that is good.
On non-race days I do exactly as you described...crank the tunes
and imbibe. However, we do drink beer while racing. This means
you often baptize your boat!

Contrary to what Ed would have you believe, I am not a racer. I prefer to
sit back, crank tunes and get really drunk while sailing.
Hartwell is a terrible lake. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting to
move here from up north. It's dirty (polluted with PCB's) has many shallow
areas
 called shoals and is very crowded on holiday weekends.
I would recommend looking elsewhere.
