Ed. K. & all,

It is Mrs. new member....altho' my Mr. recently passed
away....

I had to sell our larger boat as it was too big for me
to singlehand and the learning curve for all the
systems was too steep.... I hope eventually (within
two years) to have a Rhodes 22, which we had
researched when we began sailing. My 'interval' boat
is a rather decrepit (but sound) pocket cruiser, which
a friend wants to give me just to get rid of it.
(He'll keep another of his boats at my dock...so it's
a trade!) As I work at a marina, I can have any work
of consequence (read; safety) done very reasonably,
and the other cosmetic and lifestyle stuff I can do.

So my purpose in joining the group was to become
better informed about the newer Rhodes 22's to see if
this is really the boat for me, see what gear I will
need (want!) when it comes time to bite the
bullet...as I intend to sail far & wide when I get
it....meet other owners and hopefully profit from
their experiences.

I am not sure what the budget is, as I am paying off
the funeral and other expenses (anyone who has been
there knows what a morass it is right now), help #2
daughter graduate from college, recover a bit from
these past few months, and with luck, make a bit from
the little boat I fix up....and after looking at the
Rhodes website, I think in two years it will be
doable. I would absolutely love to have a new
Rhodes...and from what I have been able to gather,
there are not many used ones out there......

In answer to your other question...No, I would not
consider the Savannah a tributary.. ;^)...a bit far...
I am on the VA side of the Potomac.....

You asked for details....maybe too much information...
