Good morning all,

I am currently reburbishing the interior of Ad Astra. I started this projest because I first noted that the Wood underneath the mast support post was being crushed and that fresh water in the bilge had the stringers and part of the floor water logged. Fresh water is improntant here because Ad Astra is moored in saltwater, so yes I have leaks, which I have discovered is partially because I brought her up from Florida and the cold weather has provided the necessary element to shrink the sealant around some through bolted hardware.
I also noted that the stringers and flooring was made of 3/4" particle board. This material does an outstanding job of water adsorption.
Anyway, as the project moves forward I noted that at the aft end of the centerboard cap where it meets the hull the fibreglass form the cap is lifted off the floor and there seems to be a small pocket going down into the centerboard well. This pocket seems to trap water from the bildge.
My intention is to trim back the fibreglass that has lifted, clean the area and reglass it. Has anybody else had experince with this problem. Looking for input, suggestions, and a reality check.
