Brad and everyone,
I spoke with the seller last Sunday. He is simply helping a very sick  friend 
of the family sell this boat. He works in the marine industry, but knows  
little or nothing about sail boats. There is nothing strange going on with this  
boat. It is what it is. The fact that he didn't know the year or couldn't  
decipher the serial number to get the correct year is certainly understandable.  
The owner has a brain tumor and isn't able to sell the boat for himself.
