Brad, one cheap and easy way to create a temporary back-up is to get
yourself a gmail account (or any other email account with reasonable storage
allowance) and just e-mail yourself the files you care most about. Leave
them sitting on the e-mail server while you rebuild your system. Assuming
you can stay stable long enough to access them. May not overcome the
problem if the files are corrupted from the virus but worth a shot.
