I used to work with a guy who was the engineering officer on board the Coast
Guard cutter that was shown in the movie.  It was an older cutter and he
said that during the storm, things that were welded to bulkheads were
popping loose due to the torque of the twists the boat was going through.
When all was said and done, the boat was pretty much ready for the scrap
heap due to all of the damage.  A fantastic job of maneuvering by her
captain, though, to successfully rescue all of those folks.
