I don't object to paying them. I don't like the career perks to keep them
coming back. That is what companies do to attract and keep people. We are
going for the opposite effect.

That was the original idea ... not to pay congressmen and
senators ... that the rich should perform the work as their
civic responsibility.
And then the #$%%^ Watergate hearing, got them to stay all
summer, to work, and now they're here almos all year
"working". Perhaps we can get them to have just four
sessions a year -- perhaps the last week of each quater?
They would do less dammage :-)
