The trick is to make her think that it's her idea even though it's yours.
But at the end of the day, a guy is very lucky if he as a partner who likes
to sail at all! Mary Ann's not the greatest sailor per se, (I've been
trying to teach her how to tie a bowline for years) but she loves the boat
and is a great first mate and galley slave! 8-)
