Jim, Just back from the show and I can offer a quick response.

Cal (@GBI) has been using Awlcraft 2000 and Flag Blue is the dark
blue color for several years, at least 5-6. U.S. Paint (div. of Akzo
Nobel) is the mfr. as a replacement to Awlgrip. It typically takes 4
years to cure with the pigment rises to the surface over that time.
Depending on age of the paint job, your application may vary.

All their info can be found here-
<http://www.awlgrip.com/awlgrip_pages/application_guide_info.htm#18>
and other pages.

It is owner repairable with many caveats, but it isn't very friendly
by their instructions. The company recommends mixing sample paint
with their converter solvent at $48/ pt., but I've done touch-up on
thin scratches with paint alone and had decent results. There is a
customer/technical service help line, There are many more details
even for small area spraying, but this is the place to start. Their
technical people are at the show and also for the Powerboat Show next
week.

Good luck on this. It is doable.
Jay
