Rob,

Yes, I had indoor storage last year for $40 per month. Unfortunately he
doubled his price this year so I passed. This
year I had a very narrow window to get the boat out and stored my then
leave town. I'm using a storage facility
that's mostly a towing company and their lot is fenced and locked and under
24 hr guard. They'll do all the
winterizing on the motor, trailer maintenance and shrink wrap if I want.
I'll still negotiating the price because I'll still
weighing my options. I'll probably pass on the shrink wrap and just get
the trailer tongue nice and high. I've tarped
the boat in years past but obviously I can't work on it at their facility.
But at least I know the boat's safe and secure
and in the hands of professionals for whatever I want.

Unfortunately, it's getting that time of year where we need to pull the
boat for the season. In past years I've covered
her with tarps and parked her at the bottom of my driveway. No way I could
get her up to the house. Having the
boat at the bottom of the driveway is not very convenient. No way to work
on her during the winter (no water or
power), I'm always brushing snow and draining the water off the tarp, and
the neighbors cats and the local raccoons
like to hide up in the cockpit which makes it challenging to clean up every
spring.

I've found some off site storage I'm looking at and wondered what other
people are paying. I'm looking at an old
lumber yard that has covered, shed type storage out back. The guy who runs
it now has turned it into a semi-
permanent flea market and threw a number out there, $45 per month, and
wondered how that jibed with what other
people pay. I think it was Slim that had that great indoor storage deal,
but anyone else have a similar situation? I'm
also going to ask him about at least allowing me to run a hose and
extension cord periodically so I can work on her
during the off season. Thoughts?
