I am on KY Lake, 2 hours from Nashville where I raced on J-24s.
Center Hill IS VERY pretty but has cliffs around it and would be
quite shifty for wind.
You are most welcome to come to the BIG water on KY lake sans boat and
sail with us, either on my boat or on a race on a J-34.
There is actually better sailing on Old Hickory (Harbor Island Yacht Club)
in Nashville. We race there in the middle of November.
Chattanooga is OK, but again, surrounded by high hills.
You will hear from Wally on this list who is on the TN river in Knoxville.
That is pretty decent. We attended a racing rules meeting there several
years
ago.

You're at the right place. There are many on the list with lots of
experience that can help you with the various R-22 options. I used to keep
a ski-boat on Center Hill and frankly, don't ever remember seeing a sail
boat. Center Hill is one of the prettiest lakes in the country with the
clearest water, but, it is sheltered by hills and suffers the same issues as
my home waters in Western Tennessee (Pickwick), unreliable winds. There are
Rhodies on both Kentucky Lake and the Eastern Tennessee lakes that can give
you the 'skinny' on those waters. Don't overlook Percy Priest outside of
Nashville.
