BTW, it is common practice for most road crews to inspect drainage products
that have been left out in the weather for a while, prior to using. Even in
upstate NY, rattlesnakes love to hide or nest in the culvert pipes and
junction boxes. The snakes love the warmth radiated by the concrete after
sun goes down, especially at this time of year when the nights cool quickly.
During the day, the mass of the concrete prevents the interior from heating
up too quickly. These products are perfect habitats for cold blooded
animals.
