Ed,
Nothing surprises me. I'd love to send a message to the Republicans this
fall that when I vote for you, I assume you will stick to the basic tenants
of fiscal responsibility. However, the alternative is Nancy Pelosi. The
Swedes have finally figured out that socialism only goes so far and they've
had enough. The EU's economy isn't doing nearly as well as ours for the same
reason.
Our deficit is shrinking ahead of schedule, the economy is doing well if you
look at actual economic data and not the NY Times, and we haven't had
another attack on our soil in five years. If someone would loan GWB an ink
pen and show him how to veto spending bills with it, we might be making real
progress.
