Once on a sailing forum I'm on, a guy asked about favorite sailing songs. His daughter was putting together an album for him, and he wanted 50 sailing songs, and asked for suggestions.
He promised to list his final choices, but never did. I think that'd be an interesing endeavor here.
I'll start off with three (sort of).
1. Sloop John B (HAS to be on the list, I prefer the Kingston Trio version myself)
2. The Last Farewell (in honor of my lovely wife, it's one of her favorites - notice I'm still selfish enough to put MY choice first)
My 3rd choice is kind of weird. I thought it was a GREAT sailing song for years, until I found it out it had nothing to do with sailing. Then I got old enough that I didn't care, it's STILL a great sailing song.
3. They Call the Wind Mariah
Any other contributors?

Mary Lou,
What about sailing songs?
BTW, Captain Rummy is out of town, maybe you all can make his ears ring
and sing a Rum song.
