Brad,

Check out Nixalite (http://www.nixalite.com/climbinganimalbarrier.aspx)

I spent several years repairing siding, soffits, and windows (bad targets)
while paying a licensed "trapper" to remove and dispose of squirrels before
I tried some Nixalite pieces on the roof. Placed where the animals
transition to the house solved my problems.

The funny thing is the Nixalite material was in the garage already since I
had been using it to prevent cormorants (sea crows) from taking up residence
on the top of the mast and in the rigging of the R22.
