Have you considered utilizing the services of the local animal shelter? A  
grateful act of charity would be the saving the lives of one or more ball  
bearing mouse-traps.....  As outside cats, they will require almost no  significant 
care... shelter from severe weather changes... very minor food  expense, and 
the rarest of vet bills. 
Some of these mousers will of course include in their menu , poultry,  
rodents, rabbits, along with the rodent squirrels... they will migrate. These  
predators will mark and defend their home...They will sneak up on those pesky  
squirrels like cheap underwear.... Good luck!
