Luis,

We had a problem with squirrels getting into the  crawl space above our 
home
and also eating the wires of parked cars.
We used ammonia in a bucket suspended by a wire on a fan that  exhausted
into the space. They were gone without coming back.The entrances were 
then closed.
The car is protected by parking it over  a pan of ammonia under the 
engine and also spraying
the wheel wells and all engine compartment wires with a rodent 
repellant.
Once spring  is sprung they find other areas to play.
