That is true, it uses both, and the extension has to match MINE type,

Second finding (mostly for Michael if he's watching) - The list 
software is not using MIME type exclusively to filter 
attachments.  Apparently file extension plays a role as well.

Consequently (listen up Mac users) make sure your photo file names 
end in ".jpg".
