A Japanese immigrant friend of mine and drinking buddy, used to take offense
at the framed newspaper front page in a local watering hole, "JAPS
SURRENDER!"  "Get over it Yuigi, we'd have killed your mother and father and
you wouldn't be here making obscene amounts of money had we not pressed on
with the war", was my standard response.  Don't ask what feelings the
Chinese have about today.  August 15 is VJ day in history.  Here is the
video from 8/2/1945 making it official.
