Bill,
I'm assuming when you say you checked the hold, you removed about a foot
square panel from the center of the cabin. My bilge pump is located in that
hold. Some people will suggest you can just hand pump and/or sponge that
area to remove any standing water. Since you should not be getting much
(any?) water in there in the first place, hand pumping/sponging should be
adequate. I have a manual/automatic bilge pump ($20 at Wal-mart) that I
manually run when I get on the boat each time, but there is never anything
to pump. I learned not to leave it on automatic since the float hung up and
burned the pump out. Wiring runs under the cabin floor to where the sink is
and from there to a switch at the panel board. - rob
