Slim,
One reason to be concerned is that if someone parks his car in front
of your house and downloads a bunch of child porn, it's gone through
your router. I doubt that home routers keep logs so you may be ok
anyway although your ISP may have to report you to someone. In any
event when you set up the router you probably had the opportunity to
set a password. You may have skipped or not seen those instructions.
On our set-up, our computers remember the password so we don't have to.
