Hey Tootle, I like the archives just fine!  I just don't always find the oodles of info you say lives in there.  Although it's probably just my own operator error.

I'm glad to see that I'm still in your thoughts, though.

I am in favor of whatever option will keep this group going strong.  I just hope that wherever the list moves to that we can keep the feature where we can receive emails and not have to log into a site to read posts.  Maybe all groups on all services have an email component nowadays ... I don't know because this is the only group I subscribe to.  But I've been building my own email archive of all of your posts for a couple years now, and I'd like to keep that going.

And let me add my thanks, Michael.  This list has been a Godsend for many of us.

- Mark (Putnam)

e are mortals and all things come to an end.
Michael thank your for this list. It was great while it was here and it is
reat to know you.
For those who have not met Michael in person, he is a great guy with a great
ife and three daughters.
There is still the old sailnet rhodes-list. That would be a forum that big
l would like. Once in a great while there is a post. And the rules state
hat it must be sailing related.
I object to anything Google. They mine all their information sources and
ell emails to selected targets. If you like big brother, then you would
ot mind Google. With the number of liberals on this forum, they would
robablly happy.
I guess we loose the archives. That will make Mark Putnam happy. However,
t is also a loss of a great resource for problems and newbies. Maybe Mary
ou will write a book about the materials therein before it is gone?
As for me being a moderator, I really jump in and out quickly. While there
ave been streches that I would have time, often my time is not mine. And
do get on and reply often remotely.
Maybe this is really the cause to have a party in Edenton for Stan's
irthday. Sort of like those get to gethers I have attended after the
uneral. Sort of celibration of the List...
