Tom,
Welcome! Not sure where Holiday Hill Marina is located, but I know the
marina in Mayo where all the MacGregor26s are parked. It's very popular
with trailersailers because you can leave your sailboat on the trailer with
the mast up and the marina will launch and retrieve it for you. My marina
is not too far away across the bay on Kent Island.
"Hello, I'm new to sailing, just leased a slip on the Chesapeake ... and
have decided to get a Rhodes." Sounded exactly like me two years ago. My
experience is limited compared to many on this list, but my opinions have no
limit. Just be sure to double-check my advice with someone who knows what
they're talking about.
Please feel free to call me, 202.476.5369.
I'll tell you about the time I tried to capsize my boat--wasn't as
successful as Chris.
I have a 1986 that was recycled in 2006. You're more than welcome to come
out for a sail. If it's not sailing weather, you're more than welcome to
visit her until your ship comes in. Might help you decide on which options
to get.
Good luck!
