[Rhodes22-list] Favorite Pubs

Rummy, I have been supplying beer to St. Louis area bars for the last 18 years and will reiterate the the 3 most important factors for the success of a bar (Location, Location, Location). Find out who suppled the Drop Anchor with booze and beer. Call the wholesaler and see if they will give you a sales history on that location. You would not believe how many locations are a 1-3 year death sentance. When one business goes out of business and another opens at the same location we just change the last digit of their account number up on digit. Every new customer is dissorganized, over extended on credit and assured of their eventual success. As I set up a new account with a number like #####9 I feel like calling the poor bastard and tell him to quit while he is only a little behind. Another factor that completely determines the success/failure is whether the owner is going to be present 100% of the time. Absentee owners get robbed blind even by their best friend, brothers, children, mother ( I have seen it all ). If you survive these two hurdles you got as good a shot at doing as well as any of the other places in the area. We have 2 bars in the city which provide the owners with 100 - 200k incomes. I attached our customer list incase there is a name there you like.
Names that spring to mind

Nemos
gunkhole cafe
Castaways
Davey Jones Locker
The Office (we have one of these - I wonder how many wives have been fooled)
Crusty Burger

Good luck, I did not mean to discourage you and would be happy to lend my experience if you have any questions.
