[Rhodes22-list] Bottom Paint

Depends on what comes up.

On excellent bottom paints for your own region nothing should come up at
the end of the season to pressure wash. A fresh water hose with a thumb
over the end should be enough to knock the salt off when sailing in salt
water.

The pressure washer takes off the ablative paint tainting the ground
below, and reducing the amount of material between the boat and the water.

I live in an area of notoriously aggressive marine growth. The paint I
use stops it dead, and builds up year over year. If I miss a spot (read
"over the bunks") from one year to the next it just doesn't matter.
I'll hit it next year.

Last year I didn't have time to paint at all. But it didn't matter
because I had such an accumulated build up of paint.

This year I will paint well.
