Rummy, I suspect the IMF mast itself weighs more than standard. Just a 
guess....that is why many of us use GB mast hoist. Also as you furl the sail 
you increase weight aloft verses traditional reefing. That being said I 
agree the tatal weight isn't much. I love IMF but there are differences.
