[Rhodes22-list] Other boat possibilities.

Ed,
I came to the same conclusions.
The idea with the larger boat was to keep a slip in San Diego, we visit all
the time, my brother lives there.
We can be there in a few hours, for free. I ruled that out mainly because I
want to be able to go out myself, no crew, just me, whenever I want. I
bought a book on how to Buy Your First Sailboat. It had a list of Sailboats
for beginners.
I read thru the list (they had a small write-up on each boat) & liked the
Quickstep 24. My wife picked out the Rhodes 22. I've been looking for a few
years because as I learn more, the boat changes. We went on a cruise to
Alaska & saw many cruisers on the inside passage. That looked like fun. I
started looking into steel boats. That didn't go very far.
I think I've narrowed the best choice for us to be a trailersailer, small
enough to handle easy but large enough to be comfortable for a weekend. My
wife is only a one night camper on land, and that's rare. The R22 looks to
be it.
