[Rhodes22-list] Global warming a good thing?

>From this year's Old Farmer's Almanac:

Warmer weather is healthier. One study predicted that a temperature rise of
4.5 degrees would lower the annual death rate in the United States by
40,000, and reduce annual medical costs by almost $20 billion.

Warmer temperatures save energy. Based on the current warming trend, we can
expect at least a $12.2 billion/year savings for the 21st century, much more
if energy prices increase.

Water is more abundant. According to the World Bank, 80 nations have
serious water shortages, and 40% of the world has no access to clean water
and sanitation. Warmer air holds more moisture, producing more
precipitation.

Plants thrive in heat and carbon dioxide. Longer growing seasons, more
moisture, and natural CO2 is good news if you enjoy eating.

Artic shipping routes will save time and energy. Access to new oil and gas
fields, and reducing transport distance between Asia and Europe by 40%,
would produce significant savings.

And let's not forget that extended sailing season!

On the downside, we may all be dead.
