Thanks for the information, Jim. By the way, if anyone in or near Edenton,
NC would like to help a novice sailor get his start this summer, let me
know. My brother is going to take on some of the burden, but he lives in
GA. I would love to know of someone locally who would be willing to share
his/her knowledge.

I also use a surveyor to verify value for financing and insurance (in my
case, two parts of the same company, USAA). IIRC I used Mike Andrews from
Oriental, NC also. It worked out well, and the cost was moderate. I spoke
to several surveyors down there, and he was one of the few willing to do a
small sailboat for a reasonable price.

To all who responded to my question,
Apparently I have offended some by not responding in a timely manner. No
offense was meant. I did send an email directly to "elle" regarding the
good information pertaining to insurance. No tragic ending, Ed -- just a
busy schedule at a boarding school and a family that takes me away from the
computer.
I'll let everyone know what turns up with regard to financing.

Folks,
I sure hope he treats Stan better than all the responders to his
post to this forum. Maybe he has met with tragedy? May he sail in peace.
In the meantime, we wait for a sailing report from Captain
Rummy. It was his kind of day on Lake Hartwell. So much for global warming
being a bad thing. And according to the national weather service, this is
supposed to continue until

Thanks for all the input about Ford Cruise control problem
analysis... See if I get feedback from Todd's radio mechanic.
